Original 1944 Dated WW2 US Army M1936 Musette Bag

An original United States Army M1936 Musette Bag which is clearly dated 1944. 

Officially designated 'M1936 Bag, Canvas, Field', this pattern of bad saw widespread use throughout the Second World War with various units of the US Army including paratroopers, armoured troops and infantry. 

The bag features twin webbing straps to the front which fasten with metal buckles which are often encountered on wartime US webbing items. There is a pocket to one side which fastens with a metal donut button and the front flap retains its black ink 'US' stamp. Small tabs with D-shaped metal buckles are located at the bottom of the bag.

Inside the bag the original maker's marking is still visible and bears the maker's name of 'MYRNA SHOE INC' which is followed by the 1944 date. 

The bag is in good condition with some signs of age and wear. Overall it is still totally usable and it displays well with some field repairs and staining etc. Please take time to study the pictures before purchasing and bear in mind that it is a vintage, pre-owned item which may have some flaws commensurate with age.
