100) Excellent Original WW2 1939 Pattern Half Round Leather Binocular Case. Home Guard Etc

100) A very nice original 1939 pattern leather equipment binocular case. Of lovely grained leather and in nice as found condition. All leather is good and strong but dusty and could do with a clean and polish. The rear straps and buckles are in place and good with just minor surface cracks but nothing serious. These fittings were often removed at the time so nice to have it complete. The closure strap and popper are excellent. The inside has its original padding which is good with just the slightest insect damage around the top but nothing that stands out. We can see no dates or markings but 100% early war. The binoculars in this are probably Victorian or early 1900s. They are not military but have an ancient layer of rough textured hand painted green paint to them so may have been an early LDV - Home Guard used item. They are in good order. This pattern of case was also used by the RAF early in WW2.
