11) Excellent Original WW2 British Pocket Chess & Draughts Board Complete with All Pieces. Not a military item but certainly one which was carried by British troops. This one is even named and dated 1944 so was 100% carried. This came privately and the hand markings and date to it are guaranteed genuine done at the time. The outer sleeve is in nice order and made from leather. The white marks is just from storage and will clean off with a baby wipe etc. The fold out board is again excellent. The outside is also leather again shows the white but will clean up like new. The main board is excellent and of leather. Each square has a small slot for the game piece to tuck into when playing. One end should be tucked under the edge trim but has come out slightly. Easily re tucked under or even glued underneath with PVA. As stated, the markings are 100% original which is nice to be able to accurately date it. All pieces are in place and are double sided. One side draughts the other chess pieces. There is 1 spare red piece but no spare white piece. doesn’t affect the set as all pieces are complete anyway. The outer sleeve measures 6 inches X 4 1/2 inches.
