    Group of Three, 1939-45 Star, Burma Star and War Medal 1939-45. A interesting WWII group of medals awarded to Private Benjamin Pritchard, 2nd Bn. East Lancashire Regiment Born on 8th April 1923. Private Benjamin Pritchard on joining the army he served with 'The Kings Own', where he got his basic training at the outbreak of war. Later on he transferred to 2nd Battalion East Lancashire Regiment as 14723582. Private B Pritchard. His Regiment was part of the 36th Division which was sent to the Far East as part of the operation in Burma, against the Japanese serving between 1944 to 1945. The 2nd Battalion part of the 36th Division was under the command of Field Marshall Sir Francis Wogan Festing. A rather interesting group complete with original photo's of recipient in uniform plus two photo's one a group photo of recipient with colleagues. The other portrait of him whilst in Burma. Included are his dog tags, regimental cap badges for both the 'Kings' and the 'E. Lancs'. A cloth shoulder flash, Silver sports medallion. Also included is his 'For Loyal Serve' lapel badge awarded due to him being wounded at some point whilst serving with the East Lancashire Regiment. Medal confirmation slip included to confirm his medal entitlement. A theatre ticket for the 'Elite' theatre in Calcutta plus more items etc. (with original selection of photographs of recipient in uniform in UK and Far East, Dog tags, cap badges East Lancashire Regiment and The Kings Own, cloth shoulder flash 'The Kings Own', Lapel badge 'For Loyal Service', Medal confirmation slip, Theatre ticket for the Elite in Calcutta plus some newspaper cuttings.
