About this item
An excellent example of German WW1 87/88 Ammunition Pouch.
Constructed in brown leather and 1915 dated, the Pouch is in very good condition with light service wear, firm stitching and no damage.
This older model was carried by engineers, foot artillery, ammunition columns and train formations as they were not required to carry large amounts of ammunition.
The Pouch held three cartridge clips with five cartridges in each, the clips held firmly in place with vertical springs.
Slightly curved to fit the body, with a lid fixed at the front and secured each by a strap and brass stud. There are two leather belt straps at the back.
