About this item
NSFK Gliding Proficiency Badge, instituted 26 January 1942 by Friedrich Christiansen.
Non magnetic, this example is, I believe, constructed of silvered Tombak with enamels, the obverse consisting of a circular oak leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by a Nationalsozialistisches Fliegerkorps (National Socialist Flyers Corps/NSFK) insignia, overlaid by three white enamelled gulls.
The reverse has a flattened fixing pin, barrel hinge, and bears an NSFK property mark.
Measuring approximately 45mm in height and weighing 18.44 grams the badge is in overall very good condition.
