    About this item

A scarce original example of a Royal Navy Khaki Drill Shirt in good condition.

This pattern of shirt was worn by the Royal Navy and Royal Marines serving in tropical climates. Made from a thick khaki coloured cotton drill material and features a half button front. Later, post-war example were full buttoning which helps to date this shirt.

The rear tail of the shirt features the original owners name and number. It reads ‘PO.X3109’ which denotes Portsmouth as his base and the name is ‘J. D. Jarrett’ .This has been applied in a style typically found on naval items from this period.

The shirt is a smaller size which will suit aound a 36" Chest depending on desired fit. When laid flat it measures -

    Chest - 22”
    Inside arm - 20”
    Outside arm - 21 1/2”
    Shoulders - 16 1/2”
    Collar - 15”

The shirt is in very good condition as can be seen in the pictures. It does not appear to have seen much wear and there are only limited signs of age. Overall it displays very well and is certainly still very wearable but please take time to study the pictures and bear in mind that these are a vintage, worn pair of trousers which have small issues commensurate with age.

A nice original wartime shirt in good condition.
