    About this item

An original United States Army Air Force Enlisted Men's Garrison Cap clearly dated 1943 and in excellent condition.

Officially titled 'Cap, Garrison, O.D. Serge', these caps were designed for use in the winter months and saw widespread issue in the European Theatre of Operations. This example is made from an OD coloured serge and features Ultramarine blue and golden orange coloured piping denoting airforce as the branch of service to which the wearer belongs.

Inside the cap the original label is still present and is bright and legible. It states the manufacturer's name as 'Continental Cap & Hat Co.' and the pattern date as June 2nd 1942. The date of October 6th 1943 is also present as is the size of 7. There is also an ink stamp denoting the size as 7 to the sweatband.

The cap is in excellent condition as can be seen in the pictures. There are next to no signs of previous wear or use and the hat displays very well.

A fine example of a USAAF EM Garrison cap in great condition and with a nice clear wartime date. This would be hard to better!
