About this item
An interesting M40 combat used Helmet showing clear evidence of perhaps two camouflage schemes having been applied at some time during its service.
An SE64, the shell is without damage and shows the remains of both a European brown and green camouflage with traces of what may have been a snow camouflage. On the left side the Heer decal is about 80% complete.
Inside, the skirt shows a clear SE64 stamp with a lot number which appears to be 10013. The liner band sits snugly against the shell, the liner itself very good with no damage and with the original drawstring in place. The initials O P appear above the number 21120 which may be the Feldpost number of 4. Kompanie Eisenbahn-Pionier-Regiment 7.
Finally, there is a very good 1940 dated chinstrap in place.
