About this item
A good example of the U Boat War Badge constructed in die cast zinc by the maker Rudolf Karneth.
Retaining a very good degree of the gilt finish, the pin set up is without damage, the maker’s logo, RK within a circle clearly visible on the reverse.
The badge itself is without obvious damage, but very close inspection, which I hadn’t noticed until looking later at my photographs, reveals a hairline crack in the wreath just above the stern of the U-Boat.
