About this item
An absolute must for the advanced Belt Buckle collector is this Belt and Buckle by perhaps the rarest of all manufactures, Metallwarenfabrik Schmiedeberg/ Rsgb whose logo SRM appears raised on the reverse of the die cast aluminium Buckle.
It seems none of the recognised reference works list the maker and it was only after an extensive search of the internet that I found a discussion thread on a forum relating to SRM buckles and referring to them as one any “advanced collector” would aspire to.
The Buckle is in very good condition showing only the usual service wear to the high points. The reverses shows much of the original field grey paint with the rare maker’s mark clearly visible. The leather tab remains soft and without damage the SRM 1936 maker’s stamp still visible.
The belt is in very good condition, soft and with the stitching intact but this is later than the Buckle with what appears to be remains of an Rb number.
A rare opportunity for the advanced collector.
