Awarded to Chief Carpenters Mate Frank Drummond of Her Majesties Royal Navy. Royal Naval Long Service & Good conduct (VR). (F. DRUMMOND, CHF. CAR’s. MTE. H.M.S. SULTAN.).) Born 3rd December 1844 in Bromley, Middlesex. He joined the Royal Navy on the 31st January 1867 serving until the 18th September 1877. On his award of his Long Service & Good Conduct medal he was serving at the time onboard HMS Sultan (named on medal) a broadside ironclad of the Royal Navy of the Victorian era, who carried her main armament in a central box battery.
