    For sale is a WW1 & WW2 Medal Group To Stoker E Bricknell Royal Navy And Later Royal Marines.

      Ernest bricknell was born on the 19th May 1891 in Stonehouse, Devon.    In 1911 aged 21 years old Ernest enlisted into the British army and started serving with the Royal Marines.    By the outbreak of WW1 in 1914, Ernest had already been serving with the Royal Marines for three years. On the outbreak of WW1 he joined the Royal Navy.    During ww1 Ernest served on the following ships; HMS Europa, HMS Monmouth, HMS Lama, HMS Victory II, HMS Diana, HMS Ramillies, HMS Woolwich, HMS Diligence.    During the interwar period he carried on serving with the Royal Navy, serving with the following ships; HMS Vivid, HMS Diligence, HMS Egmont, HMS Columbia, HMS Resolution, HMS Ambrose.    From 1929 onwards Ernest transferred to the Royal Marines where he served the rest of his service onboard the following ships; HMS Vivid II, HMS Renown, HMS Drake II, HMS Cochrane.    Ernest started of in 1911 at the rank of Private and by the end of his career he rose to the rank of Leading Supply Assistant.   Ernest was discharged on the 1st April 1940 after 29 years of service to both the Royal Marines and Royal Navy.    Ernest was entitled to the long service medal (which is unfortunately missing), war medal (which is unfortunate missing, victory medal, 1914-15 star, war medal and 1939-45 star.    In April 1949 Ernest died aged 62 years old in Plymouth.    Accompanying this medal is seven scans of his service records.
