About this item
1960s RAF AUSTER AIRCRAFT PROPELLER. Original Auster aircraft, 2-bladed propeller; these propellers make fantastic display pieces. Often coveted pieces for collectors, enthusiasts, and museums alike. This example came from an Auster Owner, and was removed when the propeller unfortunately sturck a fence, just slightly break the tip of one blade. we have photographed the damage as best we can, and there has been some previous crude efforts to glue the tip in place. We have chosen to leave this as is, but it could be removed and repaired, which may improve the appearance of the propeller.
The propeller is approximately 2.2m in length and does make a rather imposing display piece. The propeller is largely in its original paint, with yellow-painted tips; it is marked on the central hub section with information and details. The propeller is marked 10/62, which we believe may be a date for 1962. But we are unsure, both blades are also numbered and are marked 1 and 2, respectively. Apart from the aforementioned damage, we cannot see any other additional damage, with some scratching etc to the paint and leading edges.
Overall, it really is a rather nice display piece, ideal for any aircraft collection, display, or museum. Due to the length of the piece, we really can only ship this within the UK. We have had to add an additional postage surcharge to the listing, just because of the shipping quotes we have found. It costs a lot more to ship this to Scotland than it does to London, but please rest assured, any additonal postage paid will be refunded.
