About this item
An original British Army or RAF 'Shirt Men's Green' dating from the 1960s which is in deadstock, unworn condition.
The shirt is made from a green coloured cellular cotton which is often referred to as 'Aertex'. It is a lightweight, breathable fabric ideally suited to the tropics and was popular with the British military during WW2 as well as in the post-war years. It features a full button front, pleated chest pockets, epaulettes and long sleeves.
The original label is present to the inside of the neck and is still bright and legible. It states the collar size as 15 1/2, the manufacturer as 'G. K & Co Ltd' as well as the A/78 contract number which dates the shirt to the middle or late 1960s.
The shirt will suit around a 40" - 42" chest depending on desired fit and when laid flat it measures -
Chest - 23"
Inside arm - 20"
Outside arm - 22 1/2"
Shoulders - 17"
Length at rear - 36"
Collar - 15 1/2"
The shirt is in very good condition with no previous signs of wear or use. It could be described as 'deadstock' or 'unissued' with the only slight flaw being a mark to the sleeve which has occured in storage. Please note however that this is a pre-worn vintage item and may have small issues consummate with this.
A nice original British military shirt made from cellular cotton which is in fantastic condition.
This is a vintage item which is 'sold as seen'
