A very nice example of an other ranks / NCO Peaked or Visor Cap worn by members of the Feuerschutzpolizei ('Fire Protection Police') up to the rank of Meister.
The Cap has an excellent “Old Hand” appearance and is constructed in blue wool with a black velvet hat band with both the top and bottom edges of the cap band trimmed with lengths of carmine wool piping, with an additional band of identical piping lining the outer edge of the crown.
A second pattern aluminium Police eagle insignia remains firmly in place below the national cockade. The peak or visor is in a black Vulkanfibre with a beige cross hatched underside. A black leather chinstrap is secured at both sides by a domed steel button, the leather rather fragile where there is a surface split near the end on the left side.
Inside, the leather sweatband is very good, the crown with a multi-piece liner consisting of a brown cotton blend which transitions into oilcloth on the top. It bears the transparent plastic rhomboid moisture guard with the owner’s name still in place.
Overall condition is very good with minor mothing to the wool piping.
