About this item

An excellent original 1945 dated British Army Royal Armoured Corps pattern black beret made by 'Beret Industries Ltd'.

This pattern of beret was worn by various armoured units including the RAC and the Royal Tank Regiment. The crown is made from a black coloured spun wool and a black leather sweatband is fitted around the edge. Two black paint metal eyelets are also present and feature the correct leather backing to the inside. The interior of the hat is lined with black cotton.

The original markings are still present and clear to the interior. The size of 7 1/8 is marked as is the 1945 date. The maker's name is also present as is the War Department broad arrow. As well as this there is a War Department Acceptance stamp which is surmounted by the letter 'Z' which denotes 1945.

The beret is in excellent condition with only limited signs of wear and age. Overall it displays well but please study the pictures before purchasing and bear in mind that this is a vintage item which may have small flaws commensurate with age.

A textbook example of this pattern of beret in excellent condition. It would certainly be hard to better and is a good wearable size.

This is a vintage item which is 'sold as seen'
