Original WW2 British Army Officer's Collarless Shirt by 'Endeavour'

An original British Army Officer's collarless Shirt and matching collar which date from the 1940s.

This shirt is made from a green coloured cotton which was a popular choice for British officers during the 1930s and 1940s. It is slightly heavier than poplin making it a very nice medium weight shirt. It is typical of those worn in the first half of the 20th Century in the UK having a half-placket front which was common until full button front shirts gained popularity in the 1950s. The shirt features a neckband collar to which a detachable collar can be fitted. The cuffs are 'French' style which are intended to be worn folded back with cufflinks.

Inside the shirt the original label is still present and is bright and legible. It bears the maker's name of 'Endeavour Regd' in simple graphics. The original owner has also added his name in ink to the inside of the collar which reads 'O. B. Skevington' which may offer the opportunity for further research. 

The shirt is a smaller size which will suit someone of around a 38" chest, depending on desired fit. When laid flat it measures -

Chest - 22 3/4"
Inside arm - 22"
Outside arm - 25 1/2"
Shoulders - 17 1/2"
Length at back - 36"
Collar - 14 1/2"

The shirt is in good condition with limited signs of wear and use. Overall it displays very well and looks to still be very wearable with no serious flaws or damage. Please study these before purchasing and bear in mind that this is a vintage, pre-worn item which may have small flaws commensurate with age. 

The shirt also comes complete with its original matching collar which is marked with the size of 15. The original owner has also added his name in ink which matches the shirt. 

All in all a nice original WW2 British Army officers wool shirt with a great label and in excellent condition.
