WW1 South Staffords Officers D.C.M Winners Service Dress Tunic

Khaki single breasted open collar converted cuff rank tunic with bronzed South Staffords collar badges .Pleated chest pockets with buttoned flaps and lower hidden pockets with plain flaps one with some damage.Waist ticket pocket . Left chest with D.C.M and 1915 trio medal ribbons . Both cuffs with traces of the old cuff ranking . the left cuff with 2 wound stripes and the right cuff with overseas service stripes . Bronzed Lieutenant shoulder rank  . Brass Kings crown Regimental buttons . Lining with tailors label removed but after extensive research there is a possibility it is one of threee officers .

2nd Lieutenant  Arthur Long DCM, late 1st Bn Coldstream Guards. Landed in France on the 8th December 1914 Commissioned into the South Staffordshire Regiment  19th April 1918 and served in France as an Officer. He was reported wounded in the report of the 7th January 1915. LG DCM  1st April 1915.

2nd Lieutenant Harold Watt of the 6th Bn South Staffordshire Regiment, formally 2416 & 240419 North Staffordshire Regiment. Commissioned 24th May 1917.  DCM LG 9th July 1917. Served in France landing on the 5th March 1915 and later as an Officer with the South Staffordshire Regiment 

Quarter Master & Lieutenant Eli Walker, serving with the Service Battalions of the South Staffordshire Regiment. Formally 10521 Quartermaster Sergeant with the 7th BN South Staffordshire Regiment. He landed at Gallipoli on the 21st July 1915 and was originally commissioned into the Royal Fusiliers transferring to the South Staffordshire Regiment. DCM LG 21st June 1916. He appears to have remained with the Regiment and in 1920 is noted  with the rank of Captain and was awarded a MID London Gazette 27th October 1920
