About this item
For sale is a WW2 Period British Patriotic Bulldog Playing Cricket Szeiler Ceramic Figurine. This is in mostly good condition, however the cricket bat was damaged at some point and poorly repaired. The base is marked “Szeiler England L.B.W” and is in other wise mentioned good condition. This dates to the 1930s to 1940s.
By World War II, the bulldog took centre stage as the symbol of British tenacity. Britain’s famous wartime prime minister, Winston Churchill, was nicknamed the “British Bulldog”. With his jowly face and portly figure, Churchill did look a little bit like a bulldog – but he was also famous for refusing to give up the fight against the Germans. This will be sent via Royal Mail 1st class signed for and dispatched within two working days.Disclaimer: Items related to the Nazi regime or the Third Reich sold by dealers on this platform are intended solely for educational, historical, or TV/film prop purposes.
