About this item
WW2 RCAF OBSERVER PARACHUTE HARNESS. A nice example of the Observer-type parachute harness worn by mostly bomber aircrew. This being a Canadian made example, exactly the same pattern as a British RAF example.
A nice used example of a Canadian-made Observer parachute harness. It is in good used condition, with no damage, issues, or wear to report. The harness material is pretty clean and undamaged, with no fraying or wear we can see. All metalwork is done in high-quality chromed metal; all are in excellent condition, and both clips work nicely. The quick-release buckle is the cut-off Canadian style, again in very good working condition. Attached to the harness is an original back pad, marked with a faint broad arrow and inspection ink stamps. It has suffered some slight damage in the lower left corner, with some tears to the material. We have photographed these issues, so please see the photos. To the front of the harness, it has a date stamp, dated 9-43. Overall, a nice original wartime harness, ideal for an RAF display, collection, or museum.
