Up for sale is an authentic, original pair of World War II British Army cold-weather mittens/gloves. These are beautifully stamped with the manufacturer Stuart Surridge & Co Ltd, a famous British sporting goods maker that shifted production to support the war effort.
Clearly dated 1942 via internal ink stamp and has a Stuart Surridge & Co Ltd (or SS Ltd) branding.
Is constructed with heavyweight canvas with leather palms, designed for dispatch riders, vehicle drivers, or gunner crews facing freezing conditions.
Overall condition is good but does have some age-related staining on both mittens, leather is in good condition and the fur inside is in good condition as well.
