    About this item

A quite exceptional pair of WW1 period privately purchased Flying Goggles matching closely the issue “Googles Mask Mk11” shown on page 54 of Mark Hillier’s “Royal Flying Corps Kitbag”.

Overall condition is very good, the leather mask supple and without damage, the clear lenses with minor delamination only and a small, darkened area in the right lens. The cloth on the sprung sides of the lens frame is perfect.

On the back, the dark rabbit fur shows loss only in the area of the nose bridge whilst the headband is intact but with some loss to the elasticity.

I believe it would prove difficult to upgrade these goggles.
