WW1 Period Flying Goggles with Later MkVa Goggles Headband.

A very nice pair of Royal Flying Corps period Goggles upgraded for later use.

Closely following the Mk11 Goggles with a fur backed leather facepiece, these are without doubt private purchase.

The clear lenses show some delamination and are held in frames which can be opened to replace any damaged lenses. Hinged at the centre with a rectangular wire hinge, the frames have a sprung cloth outer edge which allows them to be stored flat while provided ventilation.

Of particular interest is later replaced and rather rare headband utilising the side springs and leather strap from a pair of MkVa goggles, the original head having no doubt failed over the years.
