J.CAHILL.51ST.F.B.R.A. ), Further service saw him serving with the 61st Royal Field Artillery in South Africa during the Boer War being awarded Queens South Africa Medal Clasps: Cape Colony, Tugela Heights, Relief of Ladysmith, Laing’s Nek/Belfast. (82572 DVR. J.CAHILL.61ST BTY.R.F.A. ) and King's South Africa Medal, Clasps: South Africa 1901 & South Africa 1902 (82572 DVR. J.CAHILL.R.F.A. ).
