(GeoV) (SS. E. JACOBS. STO.1. R.F.R.). Born 1st March 1888 in Bedminster, Somerset. At the time of enrollment into the Royal Navy Stoker Ernest Jacobs civilian occupation is noted as Brass Melter. On enlistment on the 12th May 1912 he is recorded as being based at Royal Fleet Reserve Devonport.(with copy service record and medal roll).
