    Correctly named 2345 Pte P Brown Conn Rang

    Patrick Joseph Brown was born in 1884. His records have an address listed for him as 12 Hamill Street, Belfast.

    His next of kin, his father Peter, is noted as living at 58 Unity Street, Belfast.

    Patrick went overseas with the 6th Battalion Connaught Rangers in December 1915.. They headed to the front lines at Hesdigneul. They started to come under fire by enemy artillery by the end of January 1916 and started to take their first casualties, they were now at Philosophe. They were to be heavily involved in the 2nd Battle of Ypres from April 1915. This battle is remembered for it was the first time the Germans were to mass use poison gas.

    Patrick was to transfer to the Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers with a new service number 48349.

    He was to be discharged in April 1919, note record him having been poisoned by gas.

    The medals have long original silk ribbons and also come with the lid of the transmittal box.
