Correctly named 3263 Pte P O'Brien Ir Gds
Patrick came from Kilfinane in County Limerick, Ireland.
He began his army career in February 1909.
We see he went overseas to France with the BEF in September 1914 earning himself a 14 Star Trio. He was with the 1st Battalion Irish Guards.
He was wounded by a gunshot to the hand in November 1915 when his Battalion were in the area of Zillibeke Woods.
We see two tother wound reports for him, by now he is with the 2nd Battalion Irish Guards. the other wound report dates are 12/10/1915 and 5/1/1918.
He was discharged in February 1919 and awarded a Silver War Badge numbered 515609. (not present).
The medal has a length of modern replacement ribbon.
