Correctly named medals 6887 Pte J Robson KOSB
John was born in 1888 and hailed from Redpath, Melrose, Berwickshire.
He served from October 1914 until April 1916.
He was serving with the 4th (Border) Battalion of the Kings Own Scottish Borderers. His landing date is given as 4/6/1915. He was with the 4th when they sailed from Alexandria in Egypt to land on Mudros Bay which was on the 11th of June 1916.
Records state he was wounded by gunshot/shrapnel to the face and subsequently suffered a fractured jaw.
He was discharged with the Silver War Badge number 432851 (not present).
Sadly missing his British War Medal.
Both medals have original long silk ribbons.
