About this item
Featuring tapering round 8 7/8" barrel of approximately .75 caliber, stamped with
Birmingham view and proof marks. Slightly convex lock plate with double line border,
stamped with crown over “GR” (worn) and “TOWER” vertically on the tail; rounded swan-
neck cock. Walnut full stock (repaired pieces behind lock and underneath where the
ramrod enters), stamped “WS” on reverse (faint). Brass furniture, including trigger guard,
serpentine side plate, and butt cap with steel lanyard ring; lacking fore end cap. Swivel
ramrod attached to the underside of the barrel. The New Land Pattern was the standard
pistol of British mounted troops during the Napoleonic Wars.
