69) Very Nice Original WW1 Royal Engineers Officers Peaked Cap GRV. The front is excellent with no damage. It has the distinctive early thin leather chinstrap. The RE officers bronze GRV badge is excellent. The side buttons are again officers bronze RE GRV marked. The rear of the cap has a moth hole and there are a couple more very tiny holes to the sides and top (see photos). The inside is nice. The early pattern adjustable sweatband is good just dirty with age and has one small area of loose stitching. It has the officers initials to it. The internal waterproofing is in place and good and the tailors label can be seen underneath this. It is a size 6 1/2 To 6 3/4. A nice early cap.
