About this item
An original Royal Navy Blue Cloth Winter Cap dating from the 1940s and in good condition.
This pattern of cap was introduced in September 1945 and features an oval shape to the top, rather than the round shape previously employed. The hat is made from a navy blue coloured serge wool and features a stiff construction. The interior is lined and the original maker's label is present and states the manufacturer as 'Sanders & Brightman Ltd Luton' along with the size of 6 3/4. The cap is fitted with an original HMS cap tally.
The cap is in good condition as can be seen in the pictures. There are some signs of age, wear and use but overall it displays well.
A nice original WW2 Royal Navy Able Seaman's cap which would make a good addition to any collection.
