Original 1943 Dated Royal Australian Air Force Field Service Cap - 7 1/4

An original Royal Australian Air Force Ordinary Ranks Field Service Cap in a good condition which was made in 1943 and is a size 7 1/4.

This cap is identical in design to those used by Ordinary Airman in the RAF during the Second World War with the main difference being the much darker shade of blue the wool is dyed. The wool is the serge type used for Ordinary Airman's clothing and there are two button holes to the front. No buttons are fitted which, along with the unworn condition, suggests that the cap has never been worn or issued. 

Inside the cap the original label is still present and is bright and legible. It bears the date of 1943, the size of 7 1/4 and the War Department broad arrow marking. 

The cap appears to be in unworn condition and is still a nice deep coloured with no signs of wear etc. Overall it is a very clean and fresh example but please take time to study the pictures before purchasing as this is a vintage, pre-owned item which may have small flaws commensurate with age.
