About this item
An original Auxiliary Territorial Service Field Service coloured side cap dating from the Second World War which is in good condition.
This pattern of cap was worn throughout WW2 as an alternative to the ski cap. The body of the hat is made from a brown coloured wool whilst the inside of the crown is orange. Green piping is also present and brass General Service buttons have been fitted to the front of the cap. An officer's quality ATS cap badge. The interior of the cap features a typical wartime economy lining and cotton drill sweatband.
The cap is approximately a size 6 7/8 - 7 and measures 10 1/4" along the opening when laid flat.
The hat is in good condition with some small flaws as can be seen in the pictures. There are also some limited signs of age but overall it displays well.
A nice original cap from the Second World War.
