About this item
An original British Army Royal Fusiliers coloured field service cap which dates from the Second World War.
This cap is made from a navy blue coloured wool and features white piping to the top edge of the skirt and a white centre to the crown. Two brass general service buttons to the front and a brass Royal Fusiliers regiment cap badge is fitted to the side. This has been added at an angle which was clearly done by the original owner and the reverse features a brass ring pull which is a nice period addition. The interior of the cap is lined and features a mushroom coloured cotton tape sweatband. The last 4 numbers of a regimental serial number have been added to this.
When laid flat the opening of the cap measures 10 1/4".
The cap is in good condition for its age and it displays well with some signs of wear and use.
All in all a nice period cap which would make a good addition to any collection.
This is a vintage item which is 'sold as seen'
