About this item
An original Women's Royal Naval Service Tricor Hat as worn by officers and senior rates during the Second World War.
This pattern of cap was worn through the Second World and is made from a soft, black coloured fur felt. The edge of the brim features a cotton binding and a mohair band is fitted around the crown. A Wrens officers cap badge is fitted to this and features a light blue wreath surrounding the fouled anchor device and is surmounted by a king's crown.
Inside the hat the original maker's mark is still present as is the original size label which is typical of the period and states the size as 6 7/8.
The hat displays extremely well with only very limited signs of wear and age.
A stunning example of this pattern of cap which would be very hard to better!
