    About this item

A good example of an issue WW1 Scottish Glengarry cap with leather headband trim and wax cotton lining. This example has the silk tails removed, an alteration that was often applied in WW1 as the tails were found to be a hindrance in the field. A cap badge has once been applied but this is no longer present and there are no markings to the lining. The Glengarry is dark blue with regimental red, white and black dicing to the border. This colour combination is for a number of different Scottish regiments, most notably the Seaforth Highlanders and Gordon Highlanders amongst others. Overall is good with just a small amount of moth to the diced band as is often found, this most noticeable at the rear of the cap and with one moth hole on the right side in the blue cloth.
