    About this item

An original 1916 dated British Army 1908 pattern small pack which is in good condition.

This is the third pattern of haversack to be produced as part of the 1908 pattern webbing equipment. It was introduced in 1914 and was the most prolific pattern to be issued throughout the Great War. The haversack is made from the standard webbing used by the British Army during this period and features brass hardware throughout.

The underside of the flap bears the original maker's stamp along with the 1916 date. A small amount of water was applied to this before the picture was taken to make it more visible in the pictures.

A good original example with a wartime date.
