US Army M1928 Infantry Haversack with M1910 Meat Can Pouch & Mess Kit

An original World War II U.S. Army M1928 Infantry Haversack complete with its M1910 meat can pouch and original aluminium mess kit, making this an excellent and increasingly difficult-to-find example of the iconic American infantry field pack.

The M1928 Haversack was the standard field pack issued to U.S. Army soldiers throughout much of the Second World War. Designed as part of the M1910 load-carrying system, it enabled troops to carry their personal equipment, rations, shelter half and cooking gear while on campaign. This example retains its adjustable shoulder straps with M1910 wire attachment hooks, internal securing straps and external meat can pouch complete with the original mess kit.

The mess kit retains its folding steel handle, which is stamped with a 1944 U.S. maker's mark, confirming wartime production. The haversack also displays period-applied rack or identification markings, adding further character and authenticity.

The pack shows honest service wear accumulated over decades of use and storage, including age-related staining, fading and minor areas of wear to the canvas, all consistent with an original wartime item. The canvas remains strong and the hardware is in good order, making this a superb display piece for collectors, museums or WWII re-enactment.
