    Awarded to 4-2228 Private George Aggar serving with the 1st/4 Battalion Hampshire Regiment. 1914-15 Star (4-2228 PTE. G. AGGAR. HAMPS. R.). Private George Aggar served in the Asiatic Theatre of Operations. Regimental details noted that 1st/4 Battalion Hampshire Regiment embarked 9/10/1914 serving in Basra area of Mesopotamia. He later died in Quetta on the 13th March 1916 in Ex Mesopotamia. He is remembered on the Delhi memorial (India Gate). Private George Aggar was born in Fleet in Hampshire. Son of George and Louise Aggar of Crondall, Farnham, Surrey. (with copy MIC, medal roll, CWGC & British Regiments 1914-1918 by Brig E. A. James, Late Royal Sigs TA1.)
