About this item
145) Very Nice Original WW2 National Fire Service Steel Helmet No29 Preston. The outside is very nice with all original paintwork and a lovely patina. It shows minor rust spots and dirt as well as some paint loss to the edges in places (see photos). It has the number "29" to the front which is the area code for Preston. The inside shell is again excellent. The rim markings are hard to make out but 100% early war. The liner is excellent soft and supple just dirty with age. It is a size 7 and dated 1938. The chinstrap is good but dirty and worn from use.
