Awarded to Chief Engineer Room Artificer Marshall Ronald Plummer B.E.M. His Majesties Royal Navy. Born near Plymouth early part of the 1920’s. B.E.M. His Majesties Royal Navy. British Empire Medal (Military Division), (EIIR), (C.E.R.A. MARSHALL R. PLUMMER, D/MX 53143.), 1939-45 Star, Africa Star, Burma Star, Italy Star, 1939-45 War Medal, Naval General Service Medal 1909-62, Clasp Palestine 1945-48 (D/MX. 53143 M.R. PLUMMER E.R.A.3. R.N.) and Royal Navy Long Service and Good Conduct (GeoVI), plus additional service award bar. (MX. 53143. M.R. PLUMMER. E.R.A.2. H.M.S. SLUYS.). His Naval General Service Medal with clasp Palestine 1945-48 was for taking part in support the army ashore. Awarded his Naval Long Service and Good Conduct 2nd May 1953 and received 2nd award bar late 1959. He received it whilst serving on HMS Sluys a Battle-class destroyer, Pennant number D60. On retirement from the Royal Navy he worked for The Royal Maritime Auxiliary Service. (with copy London Gazette 2nd June 1962, BEM Medal Roll, R.N.L.S & G.C. Medal Roll, HMS Sluys Destroyer Overview and Birth Register July-August 1920).
