    About this item

An original RAF officers shirt in good condition dating from the 1960s.

This pattern of shirt was worn by RAF officers for many years. It is the full buttoning front style which began to come into use during the Second World War before eventually replacing the half-placket style completely by the 1960s. This example features a neckband collar to which a detachable collar can be fitted. The cuffs are barrel style which fasten with a button. There are no labels inside the shirt but the collar size has been marked to the inside of the neckband and reads '16 1/2'.

The shirt is a smaller size which will fit  someone of around a 36" - 38" chest depending on desired fit and when laid flat it measures -

    Chest - 21"
    Inside arm - 20"
    Outside arm - 25 3/4"
    Shoulders - 17 3/4"
    Collar - 16 1/2"

The shirt is in excellent condition with no real signs of wear and age. It appears to be an unworn, deadstock example but please study the pictures and bear in mind that this is a pre-owned, vintage item which may have small issues commensurate with age.

Overall a nice original shirt which is in good wearable condition.
