WW2 USAAF AN-H-15 summer weight flying helmet

WW2 USAAF AN-H-15 summer weight flying helmet, as used by USAAF airmen during ww2. A lovely lightly used helmet, made from a tan cotton material with large rubber earcups for holding the earphones. This helmet shows little use and is in good condition overall. There is light staining to the helmet with some soiling to the interior aswell. To the top of the helmet a large "ARMY AIR FORCES" white ink stamp is still just visible, it is somewhat faded know but is just still visible. The chinstrap in good condition, showing some use to the leather, also with a small stain to the velvet type covering. Fitted with prestuds to either side of the helmet for attaching most of the USAAF used oxygen masks used during WW2. The top prestud on the left hand side has torn ever so slightly and we'd advise against mounting any mask from this prestud before a small repair is made. It does not detract too much however. On the opposite side we find a USAAF pattern oxygen mask hook in place and in good condition. The helmet is fully wired with correct wiring loom and a nice  pair of ANB-H-1 earphones. The PL-354 jack plug also in good condition. Size wise the helmet is marked on the label as size "EXTRA LARGE" and it fits our display head here at approximately a UK size 57 hat size with a little room. The label indicating it was made by the "BATES SHOE CO" and property of the "ARMY AIR FORCES". The interior of the helmet is mainly the opposite side of the same material, but it does have chamois ear donuts. Inside one of these it is named to a H.Spiegel, unreasearched. Also ink marked with the number 03316 on the chamois brow pad. Overall a very nice WW2 helmet, ideal for any USAAF collection, display or museum.
