About this item
WW1 Royal Engineers Brodie Helmet & Original Cover.
A superb and classic example of a Great War front line helmet. The helmet retains the original cloth cover, to the front a bronze Royal Engineers Cap Badge. The cover has never been removed and remains as worn in the trenches. The interior with oilcloth lining, the underside with the Brodie pink stamp. The felt cushion to the crown has no rubber ring indicating a pre 1917 manufacture. The leather chinstrap is complete and supple.
It would be very difficult to acquire a better example for your collection.
