About this item
A 1945 dated British Airborne Maroon Beret by Beret Industries Ltd. in a small size 6 ½.
Featuring the short lived Khaki lining with good clear markings including the WD inspection letter L. I had previously thought this to represent 1946 but which I now understand was used in both 45 and 46.

The headband is trimmed with leather, the lace cut short after being adjusted for size.
Overall condition is very good, the maroon cloth free from any signs of moth damage but very close inspection revealing a small L shaped repair to the crown measuring roughly 12x12 mm. The two large eyelets are without enamel paint.
Airborne Berets by Beret Industries appear to be less common than the better known Kangol and this example displays very well.
