What items can I not put on the website?

    Buying audience

Militaria Zone exists to allow militaria dealers to sell items to the following audiences:-

Whilst it is very difficult for individual dealers to police, Militaria Zone does not exist to sell pieces to those glorifying war, promoting hatred, etc. Militaria pieces exist to document and represent history, not glorify atrocities. Feedback we have received from the militaria dealers listing on this site is that the vast majority of their customers are buying for historical purposes/reference, are historical groups or museums, or require TV/film props and it is incredibly rare to find someone purchasing items for the purpose of glorify or promoting hate ideologies.

    Replica items and fakes

We do not allow new, replica items or fakes on Militaria Zone

Dealers not sure if an item is a replica or fake or not should err on the side of caution and not list it on Militaria Zone.

Dealers are welcome to list replica or fake items on their own websites hosted with ph9, as long as they make it clear what they are.

Not declaring replica or fake items just harms the credibility of the industry for everyone.

Dealers caught selling replica or fake items on Militaria Zone will be banned.

    Prohibited items

The following items are strictly prohibited

Items deemed as "racist" or offensive

We fully appreciate that some items were normalised at the time, and in days gone by some pieces may not have been considered to be racist. Whilst the opinion of whether an item is racist can be subjective or down to a matter of opinion, we prefer to err on the side of caution.

As such, we do not allow the following items on the site:-

Nazi / german / third reich pieces

There is some debate over whether it should be allowed to sell Nazi / Third Reich pieces and there does not appear to be a conclusive "right" or "wrong" answer.

    The law

In countries such as France, Germany, Israel, Italy and Hungary it illegal or there are restrictions in place on selling or displaying Nazi items or flags

It is not currently a criminal offence to sell or own Nazi memorabilia in the UK. Whilst Militaria Zone is an international site, most of our dealers are in the UK and the website servers are based in the UK so we base the laws we should be following on UK law, unless advised to do otherwise.

Do we allow these items to be listed?

Yes, on the strict proviso that these pieces are listed solely for educational purposes, collectors interested in history, historical clubs, TV/film prop purposes, etc.

We are strongly against the hate ideologies and atrocities committed before, during and after WWII.

    Illegal items

Obviously, it is not permitted to list anything that is illegal.

If the law changes on any items which are / aren't legal, then we will update our policies accordingly.
