    About this item

An original 1942 Dated RAF Ordinary Airman's Tunic in a  size No. 7.

This pattern of tunic was introduced before the Second World War and saw issue throughout the conflict and well into the post-war period. It was worn by all airmen up to the rank of Flight Sergeant. It features a complete set of original brass Kings crown buttons and comes complete with its original matching belt. Semi embroidered wartime eagle badges are fitted to the top of each.

The tunic retains its original issue label to the interior which is bright and legible. It states the manufacturer as 'C. W. S Ltd' who are better known in the UK today as the Co-op. The War Department broad arrow markings is present as is the date which is hard to read but appears to be 1942.

    The tunic is a size No. 7 which will fit somebody 5' 72 - 5' 8" tall with a 35 to 36"" chest and a 32" waist.

The condition of the tunic is reasonably good although it has suffered from moth damage. This has been reflected in the price and could be repaired.

Whilst not the finest example it is complete with its belt and badges and could suit a collector or re-enactor well.
