    About this item

An original 1945 Dated RAF Ordinary Airman's Tunic in a large wearable size No.16.

This original tunic was the standard pattern worn by all men in the RAF under the rank of sergeant throughout the Second World War. It features a complete set of original brass Kings crown buttons as well as its original matching belt.

The jacket has been fitted with post-war eagle badges to the top of each arm as well as a single RAF sergeants stripe. It would of course be possible to change the badges and I have wartime examples in stock.

The tunic retains its original issue label to the interior which is very bright and clearly legible. It states the manufacturer as 'The Rego Clothiers Ltd' and bares the War Department broad arrow marking as well as the 1945 date.

The tunic is a good tall size No.16 which will fit somebody of up to 6' 2", 38" chest and up to a 34" waist.

The condition of the tunic is very good indeed as can be seen in the pictures. The tunic doesn't appear to have seen any real use in its life and is still the deep blue colour it would have been when first issued.

Altogether a very clean example of a wartime tunic in a harder to find large size.
