ROYAL OBSERVER CORP UNIFORM

This uniform is an original and 1940 dated as Royal Observer Corp battle dress uniform. As seen on the iside labels ( see pic )

But is has been, unusually badged and buttoned using RAF buttons, the eagles are original but not a pair. 

Possibly used by a costume company for film/tv work.  But the uniform is definately original and dated 1940.  And the trousers are also original and dated 1942.  The Battledress trousers were different to the army battledress in that it did not have a map pocket but did have one, from 1940 to 1943, it was a small flapped first aid pocket on the top left of the leg as seen in the picture. After 1943 it was changed to the standard army pleated pocket.

Some of the metal brace buttons have been replace with later plastic type buttons.

No moth in the tunic or trousers that I can see. Especially at the crutch. With little sign of wear on both Items. However on the trousers there is on the rear of the left leg hem an inch long snag.  POssibly done by a heel.  ( please see picture )

So selling it as a Royal Observer Corp uniform, ignoring the RAF parafinalia.
